Olavo Chinaglia is Bachelor of Law from the University of São Paulo, holds the title of Specialist in Business Law from the Magistrate School of the São Paulo State Court and is Doctor in Juridical Sciences (J.S.D.) from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), with focus on Commercial Law. He rendered over one hundred lectures in seminars, congresses and conferences worldwide, in addition to having written several scientific papers and articles on competition, antitrust and corporate matters.
With vast and solid experience in cases of cartel, abuses of dominance and market concentration affecting various fields of business, Olavo’s practice focuses on competition and antitrust matters. He served for four years (August 2008 to August 2012) as a commissioner at Cade, the Brazilian Competition Authority, having acted as Cade’s Interim President between January and May 2012. During his mandates, he represented Cade before the International Competition Network (ICN) and the Competition Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development – OECD.
Olavo is also engaged in consultancy and litigation cases concerning Business and Administrative Law, as well as corporate integrity matters, aiming at the development, enhancement and maintenance of compliance programs and trainings.
